In our years of teaching, we have taught and seen students who fall through the cracks in their music learning journey. These students either do not have the resources to pursue their passion or suitable guidance to groom their talent. As such, we wanted to create training tailored to these underprivileged persons and to other marginalised communities. The primary objective of this training is not to hone skills and produce professional musicians, but to build self-esteem, con dence and team spirit.

The academy also started TENG Gives Back, a series of performances for homes, dialysis centres, hospitals and hospices to enrich the lives of patients there. This series involves collaborations between our professional musicians and amateur musicians we have groomed as part of our mentorship programme.

We believe that by giving to these communities, we can encourage goodwill and further foster empathy and a sense of social responsibility within the music community.
