Guidelines to Recording and Submission of Videos (Year 2020)

In view of the COVID-19 situation in Singapore, the Examinations will go digital this year. Candidates will be required to record and submit videos of their performances, to be assessed by our panel of examiners. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of all our candidates.

(The full guidelines will be sent to candidates together with the Examinations' notification by 30 October 2020.)

Recording of Videos

Candidates must record their videos between 16 November (00:00)and 29 November 2020 (23:59).

Requirements

Candidates can only use smartphones and tablets for recording. Candidates are not allowed to use SLR cameras or computer cameras for recording.

The video must be shot at a fixed point, using the horizontal screen mode. The recording device must remain stationary throughout the recording session.

Candidates are not allowed to use microphones and sound amplifying devices when performing. Candidates are also not allowed to use external devices such as headphones (including Bluetooth headphones) connected to the recording device.

Candidates and the instruments must be captured in the video frame fully.

Candidates must face the camera and perform the three examination pieces without interruption. Candidate are required to recite the piece title before the start of every examination piece. Should there be a need to tune or change the instrument in between the examination pieces, candidates must not pause the recording.

Submission of Videos

Candidates must submit their videos between 16 November (00:00)and 29 November 2020 (23:59), the URL link for the uploading of the videos will be stated on the Examinations' notification.
